Rural Cinema

This months film on Saturday 11th November at Fenny Compton Village Hall will be My Cousin Rachel. Doors open at 6:30pm for a 7pm start. The family film will be either Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul or The Baby Boss. Doors open at 4pm. Please note that only one of the family films will be shown if there is sufficient prior interest. If you would like to reserve seats email or text 07850 630 401. In the case of the family film please mention the film you prefer or if you would come to either. The normal ticket price is still just £3. Future dates: 9th December and 20th January.

Fenny Compton Church

Messy Church: Messy Church will be at 3:30pm on Sunday 19th November in Fenny Compton Village Hall. The theme will be Advent and preparing for Christmas. There will be crafts, songs and a story. Tea, coffee and cakes will be served during the afternoon.

All Souls Service: On Sunday 2nd November the Dassett Magna Group will hold the annual All Souls Service at St. Giles church in Gaydon at 7:30pm. This service is dedicated to those we love who have passed away, particularly in the last year. Fenny Compton Methodist Church

Coffee Mornings: Coffee Mornings are held each Friday 10:15am-12noon with lots of fun upstairs for Mums and Toddlers. We would be pleased to see you at our Church services or Coffee Mornings - there is always a great welcome at the Chapel.

Coffee Morning

A coffee morning will be held in Fenny Compton Village Hall from 11am-1pm on Saturday 18th November in aid of Cancer Research UK. Come and join us for coffee, cake and a raffle. For more information contact Suzanne 0777 1791 829.

Just a Bite

The Just a Bite and Sale of Harvest Produce will be on Monday 27th November 12 noon - 1.30pm in Fenny Compton Village Hall. A light lunch of homemade soup, roll and cheese costs £3.50 and with tea, coffee and homemade cake also available. Everyone welcome.

Abacus Coffee Morning

If you would like to come and see the new Abacus building, we are holding a coffee morning on Saturday 25th November from 10am - 11:30am so pop along and see how all the money raised has been spent. Everyone welcome, there will be refreshments and children's games available. Entrance via the school gate on High Street.

Abacus Mulled Wine Evening

Abacus is also having a Mulled Wine Evening as we are still fundraising to complete the toilets inside the new building. It will be on Friday 1st December in Fenny Compton Village Hall, 8pm - 10:30pm. £5 a ticket to include a glass of mulled wine and a Christmas dessert and there will be a bar. If you would like a ticket please contact Abacus or Ruth Dunn 770 587, put together a table and come out for an informal evening with friends to kick start the Christmas countdown.

Christmas Gift and Craft Sale

11am - 3pm Saturday 2nd December at Fenny Compton Village Hall. Anyone looking for gifts for Christmas should come along. Further information can be obtained from Deborah Lea on 770 652.

Rembrance Sunday - 12th November

Our remembrance this year will start with a joint service at 9:45am at St. Peter & St. Clare church followed by a Service at the War Memorial at 10:50am. Those not attending the Church, but wishing to parade - Veterans, Fire Service, Scout Group, and pupils from the Dassett School - will gather in The Merrie Lion car park at 10:30am to move off at 10:50am. People wearing medals are welcome to join the parade. The Merrie Lion will be open for coffee and lunches on completion.
