Stratford District Handy Person Service
About the Handy Person Service
Age Concern Warwickshire work in close partnership with Stratford District Council to deliver the Care and Repair Handy Person service. The service is for residents of Stratford District over the age of 60 or with a disability.
The service is designed for homeowners or those that privately rent. The handyman is able to undertake small repairs or minor works with the aim of keeping individuals independent and in their own home for as long as possible.
The minor works carried out can enable the householder to have small jobs done at little or no expense to themselves.
Clients that are on means tested benefits receive free labour with only the cost of the materials to pay for. An hourly charge is made to clients that are financially self-sufficient, plus the cost of any materials that are required.
Caseworkers will visit initially to discuss the clients needs and view the work. They will then refer onto the handyman to do the work.
