Summary from our meeting on 19th October:
1. Like all residents, the first the Parish Council knew of the proposal to build 116 houses on land along Station Road next to Compton Locks was when the flyer (shown below) came through our letterboxes. We understand that some residents will have concerns about a development of this size on what is currently farmland. District Councillor Natalie Gist has kindly asked the developer to arrange a public meeting in the village to explain the proposals in more detail and allow residents to share their reactions.
2. We are pleased to announce that Marc Briscoe has been co-opted as a Parish Councillor, this finally brings us up to our full complement of 7.
3. You may have seen that three of our new planters are now in place on Station Road and Avon Dassett Road. The fourth one will be installed after the works to widen the footpath on Station Road, which is due to complete by the end of the week.

Summary from our meeting on 21st September 2026
1. Residents of Compton Locks will be aware that the first section of the footpath between the development and the rest of the village was widened some time ago. We are pleased to report that the next section will be widened during October and our thanks go to County Councillor Kettle for his support achieving this. We are also looking into the possibility of improving the lighting along this section.
2. As promised in our last update, we have set up a new page on our website to provide information and updates regarding the managed for nature areas at The Bear and Ragged Staff and Fieldgate Lane, here: https://www.fennycompton-pc.gov.uk/news/managed-for-nature-areas/ We will continue to develop this page over time in response to your feedback so please let us know what you think.
3. Our village planters have been procured and the planting scheme was agreed at this meeting. These are likely to be installed in the next month or two, pending the imminent footpath works on Station Road.
